| The
sunshine this year sure beat the torrential rain of last year as the children
and their families arrived at Mackay Showgrounds to have an afternoon of
festive fun. There was so much to do! Officeworks had a wonderful craft area; there was face painting and crazy hair; the jumping castle was a 2 storey monster and there were little go karts too! After all that, take a ride on a mini train, check out the fire brigade and ambulance and have a slushy to cool down. Then brush shoulders with Ronald McDonald who spent 30 minutes just wandering amongst the kids posing for photos and trading high-fives. Meanwhile, “Neighbours” stars Kaiya Jones (‘Sophie Ramsay’) and James Mason (‘Chris Pappas’) signed hundreds of autographs for awe-struck fans. Santa flew in with Whitsunday Helicopters and brought the biggest smiles of the day by overseeing the distribution of all the gifts. |
