What a fantastic day the sun was shining brightly the temperature was in the mid 20’s and the invited special needs children plus their families and carers made their way to the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds for the 2011 Variety Special Children’s Christmas Party on Sunday 4th December. With the weather being so good to us our attendance numbers where up on last year with 702 special needs children attending.

Santa made a grand entry on the back of a trike with an escort of 12 Harley Davidson motor bikes. He welcomed the children to there special day and then made his way to his Santa Cave so that he could supply the children with that special moment they wait all year for.

On stage entertainment was supplied by “The Toads and the Jungle Jam Band” and “Troppo Bob” and they delighting the children once again with their full of energy acts.

The children had a choose of Merry-go-round rides, Jumping Castle, Face Painting and an Activity Centre provided by Coffs Harbour Officeworks to entertain themselves with while attending the party.

A special thankyou must go to McDonalds Coffs Harbour, Russell’s Prime Quality Meats, Schweppes Australia, Fonterra Brands, Bushman’s Bakery and Bidvest for suppling food and drinks for the kids, and to the Pacific City Lions Clubs, Variety the Children’s Charity, Corindi SES, Rovers Coffs Harbour, Good Start Childcare Centres and many other volunteers for their great assistance with the party setup, food area service and in the toy-room ensuring the every child left with a full tummy and a full bag of great toys.
