With ideal weather conditions, there was a special event ready to happen at
the Fred Moule Pavilion, Cairns Showgrounds. From 9am, children were already
lining up to enjoy their Golden Casket Variety Special Children’s Christmas Party.

Awaiting them inside were the many volunteers, who came along on the day to make sure every child had a wonderful day, and along with all the other exciting activities in store for them I’m sure they all did.

Farmer Pete’s animal farm was a new addition this year, and those baby animals were shown a lot of love from the many enthusiastic children all wanting to feed and cuddle them.

Of course that was not the only attraction; the children jumped and danced around with some great entertainment from local group Bopstars and the Jim Sackley Country Band. Compere Natty Satty never let the music stop until of course, the children’s favourite arrived – SANTA.

Our Neighbours guests – James Sorenson (“Declan Napier’) and Ashleigh Brewer (“Kate Ramsay”) were as excited as all the children were and were kept busy signing autographs all day.

So by the end of day, all those great special kids had a day to remember, a sack of toys and a smile that carried them home.
